Colibo intranet facilitates internal communication in the largest media corporation in Denmark. Since 2017, DR has used the Colibo intranet as a focal point for internal news broadcasting and a wiki / document library for the almost 4,500 employees. The solution is called DRInde (Inside DR).
Effective editorial tool
DRInde is the central channel for the communications department distributing internal news to the entire organization. Editors can choose to target news to specific groups of employees, regions or departments. This means that the employe experience improves as long as relevance is high.
Wiki keeps track of knowledge
Important documents such as the personnel handbook, travel policies and guides are available on DRInde, so that all employees have access to general knowledge. Part of the content is updated by HR, which organizes and versionizes content for the employees.
“DR has had an excellent collaboration with Colibo, both in connection with the implementation of the intranet solution and the subsequent support. It has just confirmed to us that we made the right choice when we started working with Colibo.
- Mikkel Hvidtfeldt, Product Owner, DevOps
The needle in the intranet
A basic but important function at DRInde is the telephone directory, where all employees are registered. Here you can easily find the employee you are looking for, for example via name, department or competencies. Search results contain photo, name, title and contact information. If you are on Teams, you can also click directly on a link to a Teams chat and start the dialogue there.
Smart user rights management
The intranet brings together both permanent employees and project employees who work with production, concept development and broadcasting for shorter periods. In an organization as large as DR, the users' rights are automatically controlled via the Active Directory, where, for example, the photo, name and department name is stored.
This means that once an employee has been created as a user, the information is transferred to other systems, such as the intranet. That feature alone saves significant resources on manual handling and reduces the margin of error in handling employees digitally.
