Colibo has launched an upgrade of their search engine so that you can find everything in one place. The upgrade is called Elastic Search, which is an upgrade from the former search engine. The new search engine is both faster and smarter than its predecessor. In addition to a new design, there is a range of new features in the search engine, which you can read more about in this article.
The new search engine in Colibo is based on the modern search engine Elastic search. The search module works from the principle that there are information and persons which are closer to the user than other things, and therefore they are more relevant. This means that a specialized routine emphasizes aspects such as how close the searched person is placed in the organisation, and how many workgroups you share.
Search results become more relevant for the individual
In addition to the results being estimated by the search engine, the relevance of the search is assessed by:
- How close the users are placed to each other organizationally. The closer, the more relevant are the results estimated.
- Workgroups are compared. The more that are common between the searcher and the search result, the more relevant it becomes.
- Skills are compared. The more that are common between the searcher and the search result, the more relevant it becomes.
Colibo’s search is both regulated by relevance and permissions, which means that the individual user will not see content that he does not have access to. Furthermore, the most relevant search results are marked and divided into categories. It is also possible to limit the search to specific parts of the intranet.
Elastic Search can be used to search in all types of documents and work groups.
